Roman Kizyma Recognized Among The 100 Most Influential CEOs in Oncology in 2025

Roman Kizyma is a pediatric oncologist and General Director of the Clinical Center for Children’s Medicine in Lviv, a regional pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant hub in western Ukraine. Under his leadership the center has become a referral point for children with cancer, providing care to patients from frontline areas and displaced families affected by the conflict.

Kizyma co-founded SAFER Ukraine, a collaboration with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital that coordinates triage and evacuation of children with cancer to specialized treatment centers across Europe, helping ensure continuity of care despite wartime disruptions. He has participated in international pediatric oncology training programs, including St. Jude Global, and is involved in research aimed at improving sustainable pediatric cancer services in Ukraine. His work exemplifies regional coordination that links emergency response with long-term health system development in a conflict setting.

The 100 CEOs featured here represent the diversity and complexity of contemporary oncology leadership: some head the world’s largest cancer institutions, others lead specialized societies or drive innovation. They are united by responsibility for millions of patients, the integrity of scientific work, and the future direction of cancer care globally. This list is not a celebration of power but a recognition of stewardship, accountability and impact; those not mentioned will continue to be acknowledged and elevated in our ongoing coverage.
