Chatchawin Assanasen: Calling the Global Pediatric Oncology Community to Join the SIOP 2026 Congress

Chatchawin Assanasen, Associate Chief Medical Officer of UTHP Ambulatory Services at UT Health San Antonio, urged the pediatric oncology community on LinkedIn to participate in the SIOP 2026 Congress in San Antonio, Texas, set for Sept. 15–18, 2026.

Organizers emphasize the event’s multidisciplinary focus, bringing together laboratory scientists, clinicians, nurses and allied health professionals, surgeons, radiation oncologists, psychosocial experts, trainees, survivors and parent advocates to advance research, care and advocacy.

The Call for Abstracts is open. Presenters will have the opportunity to share work with more than 3,000 international peers across disciplines.

Abstract submission deadline is March 17, 2026.

Beyond sessions, the congress is framed as a forum for cross-disciplinary networking, with San Antonio’s River Walk and its designation as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy offering settings for informal collaboration and discussion.

Organizers say the congress aims to break down silos and accelerate progress so every child with cancer has a chance to thrive.
